Information for Cavalry
In order to bring your horse over the border, you should have CPB Form 4455 filled out by the vet no more than 30 days before traveling to Canada. This form is a Certificate of Registration used to document your ownership. A sample of a completed form may be found here; you should download and complete a clean copy from the Customs and Border Patrol website.
This form will allow you to take your horses into Canada. When you arrive at the border, you should stop at the U.S. Customs Office as well as the Canadian office to declare the horse as property so that you can bring it back to the U.S. on your return.
